We help young men without a support system in Athens forge their own path, by connecting them with stable housing and a supportive community
Why?
All young men can be thoughtful citizens, creative souls and caring leaders.
But social obstacles (limited access to housing, legal status or social acceptance) and the stereotypes underneath them hinder many from engaging with society.
Men who are socially excluded and who lack a stable base are at a higher risk of violence, exploitation and racialisation - towards themselves and others.
If we don’t step in create stability, positive role models and community, substandard role models will fill this gap.
We need communities, mentors and organisations to step up and take on this responsibility.
Enter Mazí.
We exist to give young men seeking refuge and experiencing homelessness the support they need to help them forge their own path.
How we do it
We provide safe housing, networks, education, access to healthcare and legal support to help young men in transitioning into adulthood grow into grounded, confident and compassionate adults.
Safe community-based housing
We help provide the safe and supportive home necessary for young men to reach their full potential and be active members of the Athens’ community.
Person-centred casework
We support young men to forge their own path by helping them make informed choices about their health, education and relationships.
